This is an odd but cool guitar. A very rare vintage 1983 Les Paul Studio. It was the first year for Studios, and this one is really rare worldwide. I am the owner now and I’ve never seen a Vintage Studio like this one. This first year had the extremely wonderful 1960’s neck. A much finer guitar than the Studios that came after. Even an ebony fretboard and nickel parts. It has been refinished unfortunately but it’s not a bad job.
The original design was created to be the best Les Paul for Sound and Studio work as they didn't have the fancy inlays and binding that interfere with tonal functions.
A couple of years later the Studio was cheapened and designated an entry-level student guitar. This one is from the very first run of Studios when they had a brighter future. They were called the "Studio" for audiophiles that wanted all instrument, no fluff impending the sound waves from their true destination.
Another rare feature is the original Factory Kahler Tremolo, and also the pickups are "Tim Shaw."
Machine heads, pots (and caps), output jack, wiring harness, pup selector have all been upgraded.
It has been professionally set up and gone over. Plays like a dream. Comes with a brown Gibson hardshell case.
